VA PBA President speaks at press conference supporting House bill 100.

On January 30, Virginia PBA Jason Knorowski spoke at a press conference conducted in the General Assembly Building in Richmond, touting our support of House Bill 100. This legislation is intended to bring VA deputy sheriffs into the Law Enforcement Procedures Act.

With VA PBA members looking on, bill Patron, Delegate David Poisson (D-32), addressed the media stating “Deputies perform in every respect the same law-enforcement functions as others who carry a badge there is no reason they shouldn’t be afforded the same job protections.”

Also speaking in support of the bill was Delegate Mathieson from Virginia Beach. Check back often for progress of this important piece of legislation.
